Alessandra Ferri will take the title role in Artemis in a new production of the piece by the Lar Lubovitch Dance Company.
Artemis, based on the Greek myth of the goddess of the hunt, was originally created for American Ballet Theatre in 2003 as part of the Cultural Olympiad and featured Julie Kent and Marcelo Gomes. Lubovitch Company dancer Tobin Del Cuore will dance the role of Aktaion, and ten young dancers from The Juilliard School will also share the stage.
